新加入EAC

1. 新到EAC的学生必须完成 EAC 申请服务. 

• Email your completed application and verification of your 残疾 (IEP, 504年计划, 医疗证明文件或 残疾证明表格)到vceac@vcccd.edu. (请注意: Include your high school transcripts, if available.)

2.  Make a phone appointment with an EAC counselor at (805) 289-6300.  You will need to provide your 900 student ID number in order to make an appointment.  Notify the person making the appointment that you are a new student.  

3.  The counselor will complete the Academic Accommodation plan with you which will authorize appropriate accommodations based on the educational limitations caused by your 残疾.  The counselor can also provide you with academic advising regarding which classes to take based on your educational goals.

4.  我们的任何服务都不收费.  However, students are expected to pay registration and other regular college fees.  信息 about 金融援助 is available from EAC 工作人员 or the 金融援助 Office.  费用 must be paid within a week of enrollment to prevent being dropped from classes.  You can pay at the student business office with cash, 检查或主要信用卡, 或者通过信用卡在线支付.

Disability information is privileged and highly confidential. 大学管理, 教师, and 工作人员 should be aware that strict legal provisions protect student privacy. 要点总结如下.

• Disability records are separate from the student’s other college and academic records.
  • Prior to providing the accommodation, 教师 may verify with the EAC Office that:

  • That the student’s accommodations are authorized as appropriate, reasonable, and current.
• A student with a non-visible 残疾 may prefer not to disclose their specific 残疾 diagnosis, 但是如果学生要求住宿, a 教师 member should require that the student’s eligibility be verified and current. 请联系EAC寻求帮助.
• Some students request that EAC inform 教师 members of their enrollment. 如果是特定的服务提供商, 比如手语翻译, 被分配, 该信息将被转发.
• Any discussion of 残疾 issues should be conducted in private with the student.
• 学生, 没有其他人, may share the diagnosis and other particulars of the 残疾 with 教师. A student’s decision to share such information is entirely voluntary.
• 教师 must make general classroom announcements and not single out a student with a 残疾 unnecessarily.
